On a snow day a couple of weeks ago, Natalie and I were watching the movie, National Treasure. I love how that movie gets you excited about visiting historical places—and as Natalie and I were watching it, it brought back memories of many trips to Philadelphia and Boston—but also trips to the National Archives. Ford’s Theatre

Because I love history so much, Ford’s Theatre has always been one of my favorite places to visit in DC. It’s the theatre that Abraham Lincoln was in when John Wilkes Booth shot him. Directly across the street from the theatre is the Petersen house where Lincoln was carried after he was shot and where he then died just a few hours later. Continue reading
